Cornwell’s Dinner Theatre is seeking artists and technical theatre staff for our 2022 season, which includes The 39 Steps, Honkytonk Angels, The Odd Couple, Curious George: The Golden Meatball, Church Basement Ladies, and Still Dreaming of a White Christmas. CDT is a 150-seat professional theatre located on the property at Turkeyville, USA, and presents over 200 performances each year. We are seeking full-time and part-time theatre artists and technicians to help build and manage our season.

F/T Technical Director: We are seeking a technical director to oversee the fabrication of scenic elements and manage the venue and shop facilities. This person will coordinate with our staff scenic designer to develop the design from paper to stage, making all relevant decisions about building materials and budget. Pay rate is $800/week.

F/T Production Assistant: This position is ideal for a college student or recent graduate and includes working in a wide variety of backstage roles in the season including as a board operator, assistant to the stage manager, and assisting in the scene shop. Pay rate is $250/week plus on-property housing accommodations.

P/T Carpenters: CDT builds a new show every two months, so we are seeking theatre carpenters with flexible schedules who can work 20-30 hours/week for three weeks at a time. Pay rate is $18/hour.

Lighting Designers: Contract designers attend virtual design meetings in the 2 months leading up to the production, and then spend one week in the theatre for the installation. Pay rate is a $1,000 stipend.

Costume Designers: Similar to LD’s, costumer designers will attend virtual design meetings, and then coordinate builds, rentals, purchasing and fittings with our Resident Costume Shop Manager, Nicole Peckens, and the stage manager for the production. Pay rate is a $1,000 stipend.

Actors/Understudies: CDT will be holding open, non-union auditions in the theatre from 1-5pm on Saturday, February 19 for all shows in the 2022 season. We are seeking artists of every age, race, ethnicity, gender identity and body type. Please bring a headshot and resume if available, prepare 16-32 bars of contemporary musical theatre or country, and bring sheet music in the correct key. Be prepared to read and/or dance.

LOCAL ACTORS: To be considered for a full-time actor contract, artists must have general availability during the daytime and Saturday evenings for performances. A typical rehearsal week is 40 hours, and a performance week is 5-7 performances.

Understudy contracts are paid a weekly retainer to attend performances regularly and prepare one or more roles, and only perform when a regular cast member is not able to perform.

Cornwell’s Dinner Theatre will also be attending the Unified Professional Theatre Auditions in Memphis, TN in 2022. (UPDATE: The in-person conference has been cancelled, but CDT will still be attending virtually.)
