Cornwell’s Dinner Theatre is seeking artists and technical theatre staff for our 2024 season, which includes My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra, Oklahoma!, Escanaba in Da Moonlight, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (TYA), Million Dollar Quartet, and Winter Wonderettes. CDT is a 150-seat professional theatre located on the property at Turkeyville, USA, and presents over 150 performances each year. We are seeking full-time and part-time theatre artists and technicians to help build and manage our season.

Visiting CDT artists live on the property at Turkeyville, USA in our company housing, and have full access to the campground amenities, including a swimming pool, gym, and volleyball and basketball courts. Also on the property are an all-turkey restaurant, gift shop, ice-cream parlor, arcade, and over 2 miles of rideable model train track. Visiting artists receive a discount at all amenities across the property. We are centrally located in Southwest Michigan, 20 minutes north of Battle Creek, less than an hour from Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, and 2 hours from both Detroit and Chicago. 

BACKSTAGE JOB OPENINGS

Production Assistant: A great job for a recent graduate or someone looking to build their technical theatre resume, this position does a little of everything: board operator, carpentry, props, assistant stage management. This full-time position receives a weekly salary plus on-site housing. Dates are flexible based on availability, but generally looking for a minimum two month commitment. 

P/T Carpenters: CDT builds a new show every two months, so we are seeking theatre carpenters with flexible schedules who can work 20-30 hours/week for three weeks at a time.

AUDITIONS

Cornwell’s Dinner Theatre will be attending the Unified Professional Theatre Auditions (UPTA) in Memphis, TN in February of 2024, and are accepting general e-submissions. Additional casting calls will be posted on Playbill. We are seeking artists of every age, race, ethnicity, gender identity and body type.

LOCAL ACTORS: Local actors are encouraged to get involved! We have both full-time roles and part-time understudy contracts available. To be considered for a full-time actor contract, artists must have general availability during the daytime and Saturday evenings for performances. A typical rehearsal week is 40 hours, and a performance week is 5-7 performances.

Understudy contracts are paid a weekly retainer to attend performances regularly and prepare one or more roles, and only perform when a regular cast member is not able to perform.

Videos and/or audio auditions are welcome throughout the year, if accompanied by a picture and resume.
