2012 Dinner Theatre Season

Church Basement Ladies

February 23 thru April 21

Church Basement Ladies is a celebration of church basement kitchens everywhere and the wonderful, unsung women who work there. This show, set in 1964-65, is a funny, heartfelt reflection on the four women---the elderlymatriarch of the kitchen, a young bride-to-be, a jack-of-all trades farm wife and the best cook in the kitchen---who tirelessly prepare food and solve problems for the congregation at a rural Minnesota church. Together, these ladies stave off potential disasters, share and debate recipes, instruct the young, and keep the Pastor on due course as they cope with the rapidly changing world. In the span of a year, they plan a record-breaking Christmas dinner, the funeral of a dear friend, a Hawaiian Easter Fundraiser, and a steaming hot July wedding feast. Join us for this heartfelt look at the stalwarts of Midwest America. *Back by popular demand*

Funny You Don’t Look Like A Grandmother

April 26 thru June 16

Funny You Don’t Look Like A Grandmother is a humorous, heartwarming revue that looks at modern grandmothers in a whole new light. These are the women who have thrown away the granny glasses, shapeless black dresses and Red Cross shoes and replaced them with cute little tennis dresses, skis and a condo in Florida. The show celebrate these changes with skits and songs about everything from what to name the grandmother to her availability as a babysitter, her job, her friends, her activities, her new interest in shopping, the truth about the credit card-toting phenomenon Shopalong Cassidy-The Plastic Grandma.

Route 66

June 21 thru August 18

In Route 66, a gang of rowdy Chicago service station attendants strip off their snappy Texaco uniforms and head out on a westward-bound trip filled with music, dance and highway mischief. This talented quartet of singing grease monkeys will entertain you with rock and pop music from the 1950’s and 1960’s including such hit tunes as King of the Road, Dead Man’s Curve, The Texaco Star Song, Truck Stop Cutie and of course Route 66. The sheer romance of highway travel is something that has virtually disappeared from the American scene. Route 66 is a reminder of that romance- in all its gas-guzzling, tail-finned, gaudy neon, art deco glory. Make your reservations today for this comic antic and tight -harmony vocal show.
